Well, that was a PITA.
After running the StudioRack installer, I dutifully ran WOLI to upgrade my plugs to v9r19 just as I was told. What I didn't expect was that it would take the better part of an hour to run the update ... usually it takes less than five minutes.
After that I noticed the same licensing bug in Studio One that Larry reported in X3, but once you click "Skip" it seems to work OK. Nifty variation of the Sonar FX chain thing, even though I'm not sure how to get other vendors' plugs in there ... the video implies that this might be possible.
Anyway, I then opened a project in Harrison Mixbus. Hey, what happened to all my Waves plugs? Nowhere to be found, and could no longer find them in the plugin menu.
Re-ran WOLI with the "repair" option (took about ten minutes that time) and Mixbus was back to normal, but I had to recover the project from backup since Mixbus had decided to save the Waveless version of the project for me.
Couldn't find StudioRack in Mixbus, though. Sure would be nice to have it, since Mixbus doesn't have an FX chain function AFAIK. But despite several attempts, I never could get it to pass the VST scan -- always got the "Cannot get VST information from blah blah blah" error.
Oh well, at least I'm no worse off now than I was before all this ... but if anyone has managed to get StudioRack to work in Mixbus, please chime in!
Cheers,
Eddie
