Hi,

Hmmmm ... maybe it is time to go back and use the plain old Teac's!

If a DAW is interfering with "silence" or anything, then it is BAD CODE and STUPID! No wonder no one can do the 3AM at the Okefanokee Swamp anymore ... gotta have that screwed up stick counting on the floor yet again.

You guys gotta help tell these daws to stop being a CLOCK. You don't need a clock!

Won't Sony cd architect do it? I'm ild school though I don't even know if that's still around, but if you have silent wav files it should let you drag them in and name them, set track numbers etc.

Nope Architect needs red book pq codes which apparently won't let you write that length of silence. The odd thing is that the wave files will play just fine.

Burn it to a DVD and use that for the meditation. I prefer to meditate over a martini.

Yup...that's my next try. Plus both the Bear and I prefer "martini meditation" too:-)

I totally don't understand. Can't you just add a marker at the start, a marker at the end, a track with your samples. ctrl+a to select all, click the ruler between the markers, bounce to tracks and export to 16 bit 44.1?

Then you have a plenty long track of silence except for some odd sounds.

Does your CD player have a "normalize" function? Some players are designed to avoid sudden changes in volume, and an attempt to normalize a lot of zero bits might create noise. Some players that have this capability have it as an option you can turn off. Have you tried saving your silence as part of an MP3 and playing it from an MP3 player?

Again...I have exported the files from X3 as wav files to my desktop. They play in Windows media player just fine. I even put them on a flash drive and played them on other computers in the studio. No probs.

They just won't burn to a CD properly using any of my available software burners. THOSE files are just digital hash. It is in the burning process that something's going awry. I can see several ways to skin this particular cat and I will try several of them. It's just a problem that's never really cropped up before.
