I was wondering if anyone had tried the demo of this and the new de-esser from Hornet - i have just pulled my studio apart - literally! - so cant try anything for a while as it gets rebuilt.
Love to hear what people think as I might consider one of these in the future, but if I wait until I'm back up and operational, I'll have missed the into prices on both I think
Cheers

So many de-essers! Am I the only one who doesn't use one?

Hey Nigel, nice job on the Lou Reed number! What de-esser did you use?

Hi Bit
I've only got one, an old Sonnox plug-in,  so if I used one must have been that! Its Ok but I've never been that happy with it - I always think when I do use it on a proper track, that it doesn't quite tame the sibilance enough or if it does seem to work, i always feel it changes the vocal too much. Most of the time I mainly use a bit of EQ, some time consuming envelope editing and try not to bring it up with too much compression.
It would have been nice to try these to see how they worked - I'll probably do that when my system is back up and running
Thanks for the comments re the track - it was put together pretty quickly  as a sort of tribute more than anything else to one of my icons....
Nigel
