Great price! It would be hard to unseat Elephant 4 out of my toolbox right now.

When I upgraded to a new rig recently the Waves license thing was pretty straight forward, except that no matter what I did I couldn't get my licenses for One Knob Louder and Renaissance Bass (both freebies) back. Which frustrated me for about a minute before I realized that I never used them for anything.

Too bad, Renn Bass can be useful plugin.

Not yet. I've heard it's good for some things, but on the other hand I already have Maxx Bass.

I prefer Renn over Maxx but when I need a small amount of bass enhancement on a mix / mastering I'll use LoAir.
You have to be very careful with that puppy but when dialed in it works..

Sharke, in the Waves On Line Licenser there is a "Recover My Licenses" Feature...did you try that?
(your WUP has to be up to date before you can recover)

So far, Waves has been great for me. I had an issue with my plugs not showing in X3. It was all my fault because I was trying to do stupid things at the time. Waves sent me a program that allowed them to take over my DAW and fix everything for me. Fast and efficient. As for WUP, well, most of my Waves stuff is old and will never be updated (L1 for instance). The J37 is my only new Waves product and the only one that I'll worry about.

Try the J37 on acoustic guitar using its delay. Very cool.

I was very tempted, but I fought off this bit of GAS. I am sure that I am passing on some very capable quality plugs. The WUP deal has always just been a real burr in my saddle. I don't want to go down that road. I've got Limiter #6 and Concrete that I use most of the time. Is there another out their that I should be tucking away my nickels and saving up for that is on line with L1 or even better. This is a hobby, so I don't want to go nuts on one. Maybe Melda.....

Honestly, Limiter 6 is about as good as they come -- no need to search for something better unless you're seriously into mastering.  Concrete is pretty good for a track limiter, as are freebies like LoudMax.  L1 is a classic, but not essential these days, IMHO.

Cheers,
