Isn't there supposed to be a "one crazy plug" thingy today???

OOps sorry it's tomorrow.

Is that the L1 thingy?

Waves S1 is my favorite Waves product.

OP,
Yes...tomorrow is the L1 deal...

Mike,
S1 is one of the BEST Stereo widening and placement tools I've used...

I vowed to cut back on my snide comments on Waves-related threads, but $49 for a Waves reverb just made me gag. For $1 more you can get a good reverb from ValhallaDSP.

I have to admit that the stereo tool isn't bad. But it's hardly unique and at the moment $4 more will get you Meldaproduction's MStereoSpread.

Don't know anything about the de-breather, so I'll give them the benefit of doubt and assume it's much better than a generic gate.

i experimented with the S-1 a lot...

and after all was said and done,
it always sounded like clownphuckery to me.

I must admit that, despite owning the Waves Gold bundle for ~18 months, I haven't even tried the reverbs. Not even loaded them to see what they look like. I'm too happy with ValhallaRoom and VallhallaVintageVerb to even bother trying anything else.

You aren't missing much.  The newer Manny verb is OK, and its built-in effects are fun, but if you have Valhalla there's not much reason to mess around with the Waves verbs.

If you have time to kill, there's an extensive impulse pack for the IR-L verb in the Gold bundle that might be fun to play with.

Cheers,
Eddie

Show me a "imaging tool" that does what S1 does with just one, or maybe two adjustments and I'll put a hat on and then take it of in your honor.

I'm going to go out on a limb and, once again, speculate that most folks don't appreciate what S1 Imager does, and that is why no other dsp company that I am aware of has figured out that the functionality is worth copying.

:-)
