Me too Bill!! I've tried several times. I finally found that I can change to a generic Cakewalk avatar. What a downgrade this is... I hope they fix it and then TELL US.

FWIW, I took the liberty of PM'ing Ryan, who had announced the software upgrade a couple of days ago, to inform him of the issue, however unlikely it is that he didn't know by now. 
 
Figured it was worth letting you guys know, just so we don't all start flooding his inbox for the same thing. :)

I'm going to make a cuckoo nest avatar with me in a tight tshirt with a pack of cigs wrapped up in my sleeve. Should turn on all the ladies.

What  the heck is going on here ? I don't recognize anybody here by their avatar anymore

I never had much luck uploading photos to post, so I gave up trying.  I never had any problem uploading for my avatar--of course, I haven't changed them in a while.  Now, I'm afraid to try.  Oh, well.  

 
I still can't change my avatar on my Win7 PC, but it works fine on my old Vista machine.
 
Could it be anything to do with the OS, or is this just a coincidence I wonder.

I fooled the system by putting mine in backwards as a ratava.

Looks like there's an addition to the 5.1 forum software:
 

Avatar upload post count restriction now applies to users who don't belong to any user group

 
Ultimately this appears to have broken everyone's ability to upload custom avatars. I wasn't aware, thanks for letting me know! I believe I found a work-around. Can you guys upload your favorite bunnies like I have?

I don't know if you read my post (#17) above, but I'm still able to change custom avatars on my Vista PC, just not on my Win 7 machine. I thought that might be relevant if you're talking to ASP about the problem.
