Jbow, also consider looking at the features/price/reviews of the Cuisinart Mixers. I got my wife one of these (about 4-5 years ago) as it had more to offer than the Kitchenaid and my wife is very happy with it.

my mixer to a StudioLive 32.4.2AI with the upgrade discount.

I'm trading in my SL24.4.2 which I got off ebay for about £1200 two years ago.
The regular price on their site is shown as £3549 so I've effectively had my old mixer for two years for free!!!

How kewl is that?

Hi,

Congrats ...

Damn ... with so many knobs and stuff, you won't have time to hit the keyboard a bit here!

Nice nice ... very nice!

I am just so glad that you can use 32 channels, that is about 30 more than I care to even think about.

OK.  Serious comment about Kitchen Aid mixers (I know a serious comment in the CH is a dangerous thing):

The old Kitchen Aid mixers by Hobart were a known good thing (way beyond "good thing").  Hobart sold the Kitchen Aid line some time ago, and while they are still ok, they are nowhere near as good as they once were.  The new owner kept the same design, but went with much cheaper internal parts.  There have been a number of reports of the motor burning out within a couple of years if the mixer was used to mix stiffer bread doughs and other heavier tasks.

Note: I have enjoyed baking for decades and seriously looked into getting a Kitchen Aid mixer at one time but decided to pass on it for the above reasons).

Shouldn't this be posted in the Hardware forum?
