I agree with Sharke about Geist. Once I got the Spitter plugin working life has been joyous. It does have some limitations but the more I use it the more I discover. I am also rethinking my opion of string studio. Instead of trying to force it to do whatvit fails at, I am trying to create new sounds.

I love sound toys decimator, my secret weapon to add some sparkle to any sound.

also, trying to finally learn how to use hollywood strings, of course to really do that, I need to learn how to orchestrate, lol

Bapu, I too would love to move to PCM from my LXP - too bad they don't offer an upgrade path with all of their 50% sales they have...

For me:
ARC 2
IK Black (keep going to this over the Waves SSL bus comp)
Bass Rider
bx_Saturator
Timeless 2

IzoTope's Alloy 2 - it works well at a great price. There's an excellent Groove 3 tutorial on it.

Not quite interested yet? How about Alloy 2 and Decapitator as a technique? Works great!

Here are two demos on how they work well together:

Nectar 2 has become an often used plug. Not the best of everything, but certainly a great package for voice over work. Everything I need in 1 plug.

Maag EQ4. Yummy Yum Yum.

The Maag is the bomb...someone has it for $70 on KVR...and I drool..
I have the free one...and it works...but the real Maag is better...IMO.

Side Topic:
I ended up being the one to snag this Larry.

I waited 3 days after seeing this to make sure you had time to go for it if you wanted.

Turns out that I was the only one who was after it.

Kind of surprising considering some of the reviews, which are almost all excellent.

So I'm just waiting for the license transfer now.

Thanks Bud.

Good move IMO jr...I was also super surprised that it hadn't been snagged up.
Was just having a conversation with Bit and Smallstonesfan about the Maag.
Bit wanted to know what an "Air Band" was and started to go into the
diagnostic phase ...and Smallstonesfan owns it
and doesn't like it.  I'm broke so couldn't buy it anyways...

It's not the ULTIMATE EQ ....and it's not for everything.
It shines the most on Vocals and Acoustic Instruments,
but can be used elsewhere also.  It is also very nice to have on the 1-2 Buss.

I think everyone is looking for THE MAGIC plugin...and there isn't one...
The right tool for the right job is my motto...

I think so too Larry. It's good to have so many options these days.
