I've got a bike
You can ride it if you like
It's got a basket, a bell that rings
And things that make it look good.

From one of my all-time favorite Floyd tunes. It's a silly song, but it's been stuck in my head for nigh on 40 years.
I like The Wall, but to be fully appreciated, I think it needs to be experienced as a whole. The individual songs seem to loose something when taken out of context. As part of the story, each song has much more meaning, another brick, so to speak.

I have more than one favorite Pink Floyd album because there's more than one Floyd to me. The band that put out Piper at the Gates of Dawn - one of my all-time favorite albums - isn't the same band that put out Atome Heart Mother - another all-time favorite of mine. Same goes for Meddle vs Animals.

Truth is, practically all of them are my favorite Floyd album in some regard.

Pink Floyd, well David Gilmour, is why I got into the whole music thing.
He is by far my favorite guitar player. And, Pink Floyd is my all time favorite band.
I like all of their stuff from the very early days up until the last.
Sometimes I might be "stuck" on the Wish You Were Here Album for 2-3 weeks.
And then that will change to any of the others. It is fascinating to see how different, yet similar a lot of the music is.
I am such a fan that I actually named my sons David and Nick. The wife wouldn't go for Roger or Richard for our third son. I guess you can't win them all.
Like mentioned above I really enjoy hearing a lot of the bootlegs.
There is actually a website that does Podcasts of live shows, mixed selections of the studio stuff
or just different versions and even demos.
(Not sure about this kind of link and the TOS, haven't read them in a while) but you can find the site searching for Floyd Podcasts. There are some really live shows on there, for sure.

The idea of Syd went down in flames, too.

At least he didn't name it something weird like Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet or Diva, ya?
