Each author seems to have a bias toward a particular Beatle.

Isn't that the truth!

As a group the one thing that they brought to the fore was the idea that all of the members names were "known" to the general public.

Before that it was So and So and The .

Bapu and The Am's.

I think it would be interesting some time to list all of the ways and things they did that changed music, recording and the sale of music.  Most of the youngsters take a lot of things for granted, or as common place, that changed in the music industry during their tenior, as a result of The Beatles.

I've read them all.

As they say "authors imitate life".

Having been the son of a real "author" and "writer", I can tell you that they do NOT imitate life. That it is the professors and copycats that work real hard at making sure they can "imitate authors", so they can think of themselves as more important than the authors themselves with their "critical works" and "commentaries", that are fit for a college room, more than anything else.

In general, "real authors", as is the case with a lot of oddball musicians, do not imitate life. They find a different "life", that you and I have not considered because you and I are too busy with 40 hours per week, and 2.1 little critters running around!

I can safely say, WITH AUTHNTICITY AND HONESTY, that one "author", didn't have time for his children to give a heck of a lot of a damn about his children, other than pulling a belt or a 2x4 now and then thanks to an overzealous mom!

How can they "imitate" when they are not even a part of it all?

So, let's talk about "life"!

No need to over reach my sentiment.

I only meant that in life (i.e. non-authors), some like Paul, some like Ringo, some like John and some like George.

Ergo, authors (of Beatles lives) seem to be just like regular folk. Some like Paul, some like Ringo, some like John and some like George.

I kinda disagree, because there is a synergy and chemistry that makes things work, and different folks do not make it work for whatever reason.

There is a "reason" (how stupidly new-agey it sounds!), why it works, and the chemistry is the issue, and I am willing to bet that the previous drummer did not have the right set of chops to help the music sound better, or was too mechanical to make it more individualistic (new word is too "daw'ist"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and interesting, and better sounding, while not sounding repetitive!

This is the part of any "art" that I tend to credit a lot more than most folks. My appreciation is for the fact that "the moment" that helped create these things, DID HAPPEN, and as such, it also means that there were some folks around them that probably helped it even more, like George Martin, and the like, but in the end, and you can hear it on the Star Club/Hamburg stuff, there was a touch of nutty'ness, that is quite open and visible in the Beatles' Christmas Shows, that pretty much explains why it worked.

The rest, and you saw it in the film "Let it Be", in comments by John Lennon in various interviews, was just way too many people around to the point that you lost yourself and did not even know what to believe in any more!

The CHB "works" because of that moment in time, and the folks that wanted to be in it. It's dead now, because no one wants to be in it, anymore! The "moment" has passed, until there is a necromancer that can resurrect the damn thing all over again! And no Julibee to seduce that ugly voice!

The new "author" of the history of music and literature is a BAND ... any band, and in 100 years I think the Beatles will be remembered as a "compositional" entity, not a rock'n'roll band. The same for the likes of Pink Floyd and some others.

And sadly, this is the part that Americans do not "see" in my book! They are too worried about the "top ten" to know the difference and not look at another Judy Garland look alike hoping to be a star!

An "author", like a film maker, is about that special "moment", and when you find it, you got magic. The bad part, is when folks around you, or in the CH forum, throw around some of the magic colors for you to add a 3rd dimension, and you can not see it at all! That's when it begins losing its strength. Sometimes it helps, others it might not. And by the end, with the Beatles, there were too many hangers on doing nothing and making things worse! It was so obvious to John and Yoko, it was not funny! In fact it was down right scary and sad! But you have to "know" what is "magic" and what is "merde", or your ability just gets spread around like butter on toast!

My "book" on the Beatles, as you can see, has nothing to do with the "star" or their fame. Has to do with the moments of magic. The only part that matters, because it is what brings us to them! And how many times, that "magic" comes to life ... and enthralls us to no end!
