I say, stop worrying about the expectation that folks will kiss yah, and throw money your way, and move on to the next thing that you want to do.

I never started worrying about that. There is no 'making it' for a 54 year old making the kind of music I do. I was just curious if anyone had any ideas about what to do with an old school 'album' these days. It would be nice for people to hear it, download it if they want. I'm not interested in selling it.

I've already started planning the next project..going to need an 'online band' for this one...

Put it on your resume and start a recording studio, so others can make CDs too.

No time or finances for that, and hardly any bands around here anyway. I'm in the 'outback' as far as Scotland goes..

Maybe check out some of those sites that are setup for downloading an album but also take optional donations?  I think Bandcamp is one...

As I usually do, cut three or four CD-R's do some printing stuff for cover and liner etc., give a couple away, stick one up on the shelf with the other ones I have done, move on to the next one.

You could if you feel brave send it to Sound on Sound for a review, though I would not hold my breath, as good as your music is I think it is who you know where getting a review with them is concerned if you get my furry drift.

PS PM me and I could be interested in spending a few of the remaining pennies I have on a copy I would even pay P&P

See?  I'm not the only one who would donate.  I know there are a couple websites out there that would handle the donation part for you.

'Bandzoogle' (who host my website) now offer the facilities for selling downloads, CD's (and even vinyl!) I'll get that set up once the mastering is done.

Hi James,
have you thought about passing on your new music to a local radio station ? or maybe even a college radio station ...
you also have music stores ( CD consignment ) , local newspaper , music rags , bars , pubs, local film students for possible placement in an indie film ...
what about Tim ? he still does shows ? maybe he can sell a few or pass them on to  prospective allies
Good Luck with your new CD

I like your idea of sending it to the author who wrote the book. No telling where that might lead. If nothing else, you might get a nice letter acknowledging your work.
