It's a shame. I didn't think they played badly really, they're just...not good enough.

I was listening to Alan Shearer on 5Live yesterday afternoon mate, and I reckon he made a valid point about this. To paraphrase him, he said something along the lines of "I don't think our poor performances are simply down to the talent of the England team - and I believe the England supporters have every right to ask why the same players that turn in high quality performances week in week out for their club teams don't play the same way for England".

The club -v- country question has always been around I guess, but other countries seem to be able to manage it.

I have a flag for sale if anyone is interested........

It's white with a red cross on it. Only had it a week, so it's hardly been used. The pole is a bit bent, well I say bent, it's broken in two actually, but the flag itself is still ok. Well, there is a bit of a rip in it, well more than one actually. OK, It's in shreds and has some smelly brown marks on it..........but other than that.............

On ESPN over here they showed England and Uruguay as the anthems for each were being played.  The Uruguay players were emotional and really felt proud then they showed the England team and the commentator said "They look like school boys whipped into singing the opponent's fight song."

That just about summed up how they played too...

Now all they have to look forward to is playing the (surprisingly) strongest team in their group on the 24th!

(P.S., With Germany drawing with Ghana today, the U.S. has a great opportunity to lead the group!  Wow...)

One day they will win it again and I can't wait for that day!
