  • Does Waves hide support pages from people who are not WUPed up?

I have noticed that the last time I updated my Waves stuff that the 32bit and 64bit VST Waves shell .dll files were installed in unanticipated places.

I have the original offline Wave shell installs in directories:

C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Waves
C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins32\Waves

While the more recent updates were placed in

C:\Program Files\Vstplugins
C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins32

I went to Waves to find out if I could delete the originals and move the new ones to the place I wish them to be... and I can't find any sort of knowledge base or forum. I'm worried that if I move them that the licenser usb stick will get messed up.

I let my WUP expire for the two Waves items I use, S-1 imager and De-esser so they will not accept my email inquiry.

Is there anything like a knowledge base or forum behind the curtain?

Not that I can see. They just have basic information and the manuals available. Looks like you have to contact support for deeper information.

Yes, the website says I can only get email support when my WUP is up to date and I have let my WUP expire. :-)

I went ahead and sent them an email through their form:

In other words I have two 64bit VST Wave Shell .dll files and two 32bit VST Wave shell .dll files

I'd like to delete the older files and move the newer files to the directories I had made for my Waves VSTs.
Will that mess up the licensing or cause problems with Windows registry?
Thank You

Well, I didn't see any knowledgebase or support forum, and I'm up to date on several plugins. That's what I meant...

FWIW, Waves support has indeed been very quick to reply and offer support. Good news!

I do it all the time. No problems here.
