X2a: VS-100 - Automatic Move to Selected Channel. Is it possible?

I have several channels in my Project. I select one of them (yellow rectangle) but my VS-100 doesn`t  move to this channel automatically.

I need to click on the special area under the channel and choose "Move VS-100 - 1 here".

It is too slow method for getting benefit from all the advantages of VS-100 motorized fader quickly. And Sonar X2a doesn`t have a special HotKey for this operation. This is lamentably.

Can you help me to FIX this problem?

Or maybe the option of adjustment of the mode of automatic or manual move of VS-100 will be added in Sonar X2 later?

I hate to break it to you, but that is how Sonar and the VS series is setup to interact. You can move the channels from the VS-100 (Sonar follows) but not the other way around. It's been a complaint of mine since day one and I have made several features requests. All I have ever gotten in return was that "this was by design", essentially telling me this is not going to change.

Hi,

I have also an VS-100 and this is for me the only thing, I´m really unsatisfied with. Work would be so much easier if the fader moves automatically to the active channel. Why isn't this possible to fix? No Firmware-Update possible?

Please Cakewalk, more support for the VS-100. It's really a super device. Take your chances!!

Actually - this would not be firmware on the VS-100, it is something that should be integrated into Sonar.

Let me explain: This is all managed by the WIA (Where I Am) selection in Sonar.
  • When you change tracks on the VS, both WIA changes, and the Track Selection changes in Sonar to match.
  • When you make a track selection in Sonar, it does not change the WIA selection in Sonar.
  • When you finally change the WIA selection in Sonar, the VS follows. That means the VS is following commands, they just are not being sent when we want them :)
What they should add to Sonar is a toggle, something like "WIA Follows Track Selection". When selected, WIA will follow the track selection (and therefore trigger the VS when changed). When not selected - WIA must be manually set like it is now.

To make this feature request (as I have done many times in the past) please submit it here

Hi,

I submitted it of course. It's really necessary for the workaround and it's also a possibility for Cakewalk/Roland, to make the VS-100 better and popular.
