I suppose then they would change out everything except the jack that you plug in the guitar with.
??
I mean people change out pots in Epiphones, and capacitors and everything else in a guitar, and do different hookups with them.
Even on a es-339 or es-335 a guitar person (professional or not - luthier) can do that stuff with some of them and a luthier can definitely do stuff like that.
Even some people are starting to make their own guitars (solid bodies of course but even one is doing a semi-hollow body guitar).
If you do a search or reads some forums, you be surprised what some will try and do, and I read about one on a forum who did make is own semi-hollow but could not sell it, because of well intellectual or copyright reasons, otherwise he was going to do that.
Ya, know the lawyers find out, and big no-no since a company like Gibson owns the patents and all of that stuff.
Not that I ever would.
PUs maybe but then a circuit board, well that just has to be taken out and re-do the entire electronics. It is just a circuit just like some people make their own amps also.
That is all that board is - is a printed circuit board that does the same thing, so soldering and using a person to make it like the old way turns out to be cheaper and a person does not have to be used.
