Rumour has it was she actually put on a Coldplay album and all the water in the house took it as that last straw, upped sticks and left her high and dry.  So it was a case of conciously uncoupling or dying of thirst.  Whilst many of her advisors apparently recommended her taking the second option for the benefit of humanity, she conciously decided on the uncoupling.
 
The water is still furious at that decision judging by the way it came out of my tap earlier.
 
Actually I've done some exacting science on this subject and in my tests, using The Lighthouse Family as a baseline benchmark metric of course, and Keane actually come out slightly wetter than Coldplay.

 
So, Gwyneth walks on water.
