Since you already posted this here yesterday, I'm sure Cake will honor the sale price and still work with you. I also agree with posting this upstairs (if you haven't already) and getting "seen" a bit + contacting sales/support.

Perhaps you needed to have a prior verson of Sonar registered in your account to be able to execute the upgrade.
If it was registered in your account then I understand your frustration.
 
I upgraded from X2 to X3 on the evening of the last day without issue. Not that it helps you in this case.
 
I have used skype to call vendor in California. Worked perfectly.
