Session Drummer is probably the least used of my plugins.

Oh man, I forgot I even had that one.  When it was new to me, I took one listen, said "blech," and never tried it again.

Cheers,
Eddie

I used it once as a scratchpad, realized even Session Drummer 3 in stereo mode would give me the same thing with more control options and never touched it again.  It doesn't sound awful.  There are just too many things bundled in X(3) that provide simple drum presets

Even the TTS-1 receives regular assignments, usually for hand percussion.

Hehe, I actually required castanets(!) for a project a while back and TTS-1 is the only GM/GS synth I have, so it got the job.

I remember getting the Music City SDX years ago and was blown away (I was pretty 'meh' about the Avatar vol. 1 kit). So I used it almost exclusively for a long while. But listening back to a lot of those tracks, the cymbals sound a little thin and "disconnected" from the rest of the drum track, so I think I'm gonna bench it for a while!

Basically everything that is not BFD3. BFD3 > all.

Seriously, since getting it I have had little interest in my other kits.

Steven Slate SSD4.

It does sound great, but I hated using it.  Didn't even install it on my new machine.

Steven Slate SSD4. It sounds great but some how I never use it in anger.

I also find the standard SSD4 package less competitive than others, but I really like the CLA add pack, particularly the kicks and snares.  I use those a lot.

A lot of the NI / Abbey Road drumkits for Kontakt sound good on their own, but I have trouble getting them to fit in a mix.  Some of them (e.g. Vintage Drums) are good for certain situations, though.

SD2 gets the most use here.  The Music City SDX is my favorite of the ones I have.

Cheers,
Eddie

SSD 4. I thought I hated using Kontakt for drums and was looking forward to Slate's own player... The very few times where I find myself using Slate samples - to beef up existing drum tracks - I use the old version of them in Kontakt.

The NI stuff sat on my HD for over a year because I didn't seem to think much of it. But in recent months, the Abbey Road  drums have become my go to.

For the longest time, I hated my mixes and they all seemed to have the same flaws, the same weird hollowness which I couldn't exactly explain. After a first rough mix using BFD Eco and the Rock Legend kit instead of EZ/Superior, I was flabbergasted - it was almost as if the song mixed itself.

The Abbey Road stuff brought that to the next level - as if my music and those drum sounds just belong together.

My perfect solution would be to be able to use NI drums from within EZ or SD, which I absolutely love as songwriting tools.

I own AD too but didn't get to play with it all that much.

As many of you know, I own quite a few drumplers.

Honestly, I've yet to use Jamstix. In concept it seems fantastic but I've had a few false starts and cannot entirely wrap my head around the implementation.

I've use BFD2 just a little. Eco not at all. Nor have I used Vogengo's Accu Drums. Have yet to use any of the Sonic Reality kits (Ocean Way, Drum Masters) even after owning them for years.

Abbey Road stuff from Komplete 8 screams at me to be used. I think I've used one or two kits before.

On one CHB tune I used "Metal 1" from Bluenoise Plugins (32bit only)

Addictive gets used about 5% of the time.

Superior gets used about 15% of the time.

Slate gets used about 20% of the time.

EZDrummer (now 2) gets used about 57.9757588546425879% of the time.

It's usually real drums with Slate Digital Trigger for me, otherwise Addictive Drums. I have Eco that came with Zildjian Digital Vault but I never opened the package. I dabbled with Session drummer some but I don't go there any more.

I forgot about the Zildjian Digital Vault - great cymbals.
