Does this mean that those that have Miroslav and ST2.5 get double discounts ?

Of course it does - all you have to do is wait a month or two, then you will be eligible for the group buy / bogo sale of the century, which will probably be better than double discount!
I really don't know why anyone would buy this just yet - specification wise it does not seem as advanced as Mach 5 or Kontakt and the upgrade price is most certainly not in no brainer territory.
I've basically done without it since going 64bit years ago, I'm sure I can wait a bit longer!
I'll wait for the inevitable sale...........

Preorder pricing runs until release (July), then Introductory pricing runs for 2 months after that.  After that we are at the full pricing, and all is detailed at this link so it will likely be a good bit longer than a couple of months for a deal like the preorder pricing:  http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=4109

Thanks for this  - but I think I'll still wait - now if it had been a more sensible pre-order upgrade price, especially for people like myself who purchased SampleTank many many years ago, I might have been tempted, but not at these prices - as I said SampleTank is very long in the tooth now and even though there does seem that there could be quite an improvement with V3, this is really just catching up, not leading the pack if you see what I mean. And as I have been able to set my SampleTank up on an old 32bit machine, then link it to my 64bit machine via Vienna pro, I can use it if I want.
But in all honesty I seem to use it less and less these days - still use SampleTron, which with the expansions is good.
Cheers

IK has wound up enough of it's customers with the heavy discounting..

RUBBISH transferral procedure.. i.e it costs as much to transfer to buy it, I wanted to give a friend a spare product for free.. and couldn't

constant ads for i-app stuff and forgetting it's other customers

jam points that are selective in what they can be used for..

worse.. not allowing re-downloads of products (inc. libraries YOU own) without jumping thru hoops or being charged.. esoundz don't / haven't charged me.. so I'd rather buy via them than IK directly!

yep I own a lot of products by IK but prefer how others do business ... u-he, d16, psp, fabfilter and melda to name a few that others REALLY could learn from.

IK has really done nothing to make me "want" their products now.. thats the sad bit.

I am glad that we are not the only ones in the UK who have to suffer the same info-mericals bit :)

Oh I understand, I was only outlining what we do have laid out pricing- and timing-wise at this point.  I don't know what the future holds for sales, etc so I understand where you are coming from.  Didn't mean to imply that I did not.

Transfer fees are going to be removed and sound reactivation will be extended to 1 year with only a single reactivation credit beyond that year to reactivate ALL sound sets in your account.  Just in case that was missed when posted elsewhere.  More news will come on that as soon as all of it is rolled out, but thought you'd like to know.

I think removing the transfer fees is a good thing.......it seemed like the transfer fees were about the same price as the product(s) itself (on the group buys). At least now, people who can't afford ST3 can get some of the individual instruments while the seller isn't hit that hard on the sale. Good move IK!!

Sorry for the confusion I have, but what does it mean "sound reactivation"?

You get a limited amount of time to download your library when you purchase (30 days, I think).

After that, you need to pay a "reactivation fee" to get the download links to work again.   If you back up properly, then you should never have to pay this fee.

Personally, I never felt you should have to pay that fee period. You already paid to DL the product and if something bad happens you should be able to log in to your account and DL that library you paid for.

I can't see people abusing this as not too many really want to wait while those libraries DL. As I understand it a fee is charged for each library so if you own several it could get expensive. But, it is another way to make a buck off of someone that is already dealing with a bad situation that caused them to lose the library in the first place.

Yes they do warn you to make a backup, and you should anyway, or there will be a fee to DL after 30 days. (sounds like they are considering moving that out to 1 year, not sure what the thought process is there. Why charge it at all?)  Just another IKM policy I don't care for but that is my just personal opinion and one of many reasons I choose not to deal with them any longer.
