Not sure why it would be insanely fast? Is the "preview in original tempo" selected by any chance? Also, you can edit the play style and dial down amount/velocity of individual kit pieces, add pieces etc

IT IS A USEFUL TOOL....I just don't consider it "Ground Breaking".  These things could be done already...howbeit a
bit more time in the process...it's a "facilitator" ....sound wise...as Jim said, they're not bad, but not on par with AD, SD, or BFD IMO...L,M,N,O,P....

I went over the AD tutorials and found absolutely nothing on how these things are done. Did I just miss the coverage somehow or is there a secret stash of info somewhere that I missed?

I didn't mean IN AD...I meant that, by MIDI editing, you can accomplish this...
EZ just puts it "in your face" and makes it a lot EZer to do...by keeping it all in one place...

Outrageously fast and insanely complicated suggestions for my SLOW simple tapped beat.

Check to see if the preview of clips is set to original clip tempo. Not at my PC now and can't tell ya what it exactly called.

Are you using the demo standalone or in a host? If in a host, and EZD2 is set to follow host, slow the tempo down.

Once you figure out why they are playing fast, and find one that's close, drag it to the clip bar/time line at the bottom. Once the clip is there click on the little arrow on the top left of clip. That will open the player editor. It is here that you can select the velocity for individual parts of the kit, and how much/how busy each piece of the kit will be.

And it's here that you make any clipwhat you want/need.

Sound wise, I think EZ2 is fine and usable. I would like sound editing options on individual drums from within the interface. However, as others have mentioned here, it's real strength is the speed of putting together a song. I did this for the first time last night and it was incredibly efficient. Loved it. I even dragged some midi files in from another kit and mixed and matched with EZ2's Nashville midi files. Back to the sound, I have plenty of drum modules to get different sounds from should I feel the need. I see EZ2 as the first step in the process from this point forward. Good thinking and implementation by the toontrack folks!

That is exactly my feelings and approach to both EZ2 and EZkeys...they are GREAT for building
parts and entire songs....then I switch to what I think is best for the job....

It was user error on my part. I did something wrong. Sorry about that.

What I wanna know is...what is the best way to tap for tempo...tap a loop...should you start your project playing and then tap to that? The click in EZD2 and the project click don't always match up and it gets weird trying to tap to your guitar track.

Am I missing something?

It's more of a "Tap to what you hear in your head" kinda thing to me...
but that's just me....

I thought you were meant to use it by for example listening to your DAW play the guitar track you just recorded and then tapping to that...but when I try that the click in EZD2 is not in synch with the click in my DAW...making it impossible to tap to the guitar track.

Adjust the "tempo" to the song tempo....

Click on the Tempo and the tempo adjustment slider will show up...that should help...

Oddly enough, I could not find "Sync To host" anywhere....

But, for the click to be in time with the song you must make sure the Tempo in EZ matches the tempo of the song...I think....
