Thanks, ordered. I needed another set of phones. I've used K-240s forever.

Love my K240's, but I could use another set.

I would enjoy hearing your comparisons of the ATH-40's vs. K240's.

I've still got my 40's....saving them for a backup to the 50's...
also good for "comparison" when having 2 sets...

I bought a set of ATH-M30x's recently as a "cheap" set of cans for the gym, and I was surprised how good they are. I haven't A/B'd them against my M50's yet but I can say the difference isn't exactly night and day.

K-240 here too.

Been hoping to get M50's, but that's not a priority. And after so much time using headphones on the road, I am using them as little as possible, unless I am tracking something with a mic. Plus, it's gets hot in here - cans aren't all that comfortable in that setting.

I've had a pair of K240's for almost 25 years. I finally backed them up with a pair of AT M45's when Mf was stupid dealing them a few months back. Nice phones for sure - but nothing beat the K240's for plain simple balance. The old 240's are 600 ohms and were great with old analogue consoles running at +4.

I've got both k-240's and ath-m40's and the 40's are really bright and lacking low end compared to the 240's. Though, the covering for the ear cups have disintegrated leaving just the foam underneath. I used them for years until getting the 240's which I like a lot for listening to bass response to compare with the room speakers.
