Saw this one at the liquor store tonight and I could not not get one...

Anxious to try it - though I'm not expecting it to be the finest beer ever, I'm thinking that Harris, Dickinson and friends should know something about beer and not want to be associated with a sub par product.

Ahhh man, right now I'd pay well over the odds to drink a British Real Ale. I left England 18 months ago, so has mainly been dull asian lager since then. Going back in August and will spend a lot of time drinking ale, eating cheese with good granary bread.

Seeing your other thread, I'll be picking up my Epiphone dot335 while I'm there, from my mums loft.

Just realized you were in Vietnam - that must be quite an experience and 18 months is a long time. Not sure how long I could last in so different a culture, as curious as I would be to at least visit for a while.

Went to Lee's Discount Liquor for the second time tonight - first time I actually bought something for myself. There's plenty in there to keep my satisfied for quite a while. There are a few beers from back home I miss a tiny bit, like Belle Gueule pilsner (I'm a big fan of pilsners), Raftman and Griffon Blonde.

We do have a decent supply of beers from back home too, Unibroue stuff like La Maudite, Trois-Pistoles, La Fin du Monde - but these are mostly strong beers, and I prefer regular 4-5% ones.

Anyway, even back home,  I've always loved the imported stuff - I'm addicted to Guinness, and I seem to always find new German, Irish and British beers that I love.

Do you carry a guitar w/ you or nothing at all? When we went to Madrid and Moscow, I brought a cheap little Epiphone LP Junior - since I couldn't take much w/ me, I unbolted the neck and packed the guitar w/ my clothes.
I couldn't imagine being w/o a guitar.

I can get Guinness in a can, but its an hour and half in bad traffic in order to do so. We can get some Belgium lagers like Chimay here, but nothing alas no British ales.

Learning the guitar is a new experence for me. I bought the Epiphone 2 months before I left, and was practising daily for a month, then found out I needed to change address. I had a plan to become and English teacher a try Asia for about a year later, but with the of that house imminent, that idea was fast-tracked forward. So put the guitar down, and put my head into studying to be a teacher for a month, booked a flight to Bangkok. I guess I can call myself Flautest, so for me, it was my alto flute I packed, rather than a guitar.

I picked up an acoustic when I settled into a place, so I'll grab the Epiphone, which thankfully I had bought a hard case for, when I go back.

I imagine the guitar went down well with the Spanish, they love 'em, a real part of there history and culture.
