I like using the database feature.  I'm not only able to find instruments I need really quickly, but I'm always finding instruments that I've totally forgotten I have.

+1.  I also like using the Quick Load feature.  It works similar to how bookmarks work in your browser.

I use the Quick Load as well.

Once setup the way you like, it's very simple & fast.
You can stream-line it by leaving things out you may never use as well, instead of navigating through the menu tree each time.

Hi Bigcat,

Thanks for that info....in a few cases I may have loaded up my libraries the wrong way, didn't do what Ol Pal suggested in at least a few instances...probably pointed my files the wrong place. I wasn't aware that a developer had to pay to have a logo attached as part of the NI acceptance process.

I can  use the file tree but it also gets cumbersome on some libraries...and this involves a lot more than just a graphic I can click to go directly to the files...as an example , a few years back I purchased an electric guitar library...complete with plucks and squeaks and basically anything that makes an electric guitar sound like an electric guitar, now these sounds are all in their own little folder and I need to work some kind of magic to combine them into something like a guitar sound....if the library would have been organized into combined sounds ( and I think this is the way it was supposed to be) then I could use it...right now it's pretty much useless. I don't have an extra hour to pull 10 different sounds and make my own combinations. When I opened those files the maker said nothing about any particular sequence of installation...so I guess this is about more than just metadata...it involves sound grouped in a way that they are useful.

BTW- whats the link for your organ? I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the other comments!

Starise - that's the beauty of the Quick Load - to avoid all this nonsense ^^^  and save yourself a bunch of time & trouble.

I only ever use the file tree once in a blue moon - just to get each new Library's instruments into the Quick Load area & set up.

PM me for a quick & easy walk though if you want.
Once I show you how to do a first very simple one, you'll see how quick & easy it is & I'm betting you'll want to do the rest right away.

Couldn't you just get the exact combo you want for your electric guitar and then "save multi as..." to create an nkm? I think that then it would be one click on the nkm and you would have the setup you saved.

http://bigcatinstruments.blogspot.com/ will get you to the organ, pianos, all kinds of stuff.

I think they cover it in the Groove3 series, but it is pretty simple.
Click on the quick load button on the top menu.
It will show up on the bottom under the instruments.
There are three tabs - instrument, bank, multi.  Click Instrument.
To make folders, you either right-click or double click on one of the cells.
Otherwise, just drag instruments from the file browser to quick load section.   Once you have them in the quick load, just drag them to the instrument area or click.
Adding multis and banks works the same way, but click on appropriate tab.

Yup!  :)
Thanks mump! You beat me to the punch.

I set up folders like Accordion; Acoustic Piano, or by maker - Ilya Efimov; Embertone; Sampletekk.

Just make sure that once you drag & drop your .nki s into their appropriate folders, you double click on them before you close Kontakt. This allows them to load in and set the new paths.

I forgot to do this once & had to re-do some of them.

Another benefit is that you never need the browser section open [once you've used it to drag & drop your .nki s into the Quick Load Folders].

I love the quick load feature and use it almost exclusively. It's so easy to setup your entire goto custom instruments menu. If Sonar didn't provide for track templates quick load would be the next best thing.
