Sorry if this already have been covered by cclarry, but could not find it.

I got a email from Cakewalk yesterday, telling me that I could upgrade (I have X3 Studio) to Producer for 149$.

Strangely they increase the price if you don't take the cheap one. That's a new marketing ploy. Who is sitting there saying 'Well now you've increased the offer, I'll now buy it'

LOL...maybe...I get the Newsletter...but that's it...sometimes (rarely) there is a sale
in the newsletter..otherwise it's a re-hash of the same stuff that's always "on sale"...

They do a countdown when the offer is about to close. You get one virtually daily. Then it gets extended the following week. Then they bring out a new variation of the offer and it starts again. They are targeted because they know what you own.
