I'm wondering about this. How do you make money from these CakeWalk softwares? And how much?

I'm sorry for my curiosity...

It's mainly a hobby.  I've made a few dollars recording people in my house, but no where near any kind of profit from all I've spent.

I record folks at my home studio, nothing fancy.. vocals, guitars, keyboards (no acoustic drums) and make a few dollars here and there... but driven mostly for fun and the challenge.

Well, first I take just the right type of cotton paper, get some dies cut then...  Oh wait, that's not what you meant is it?

Actually, I've used SONAR most over the last few years for voice-overs.  For a start-up company I was in, we had demo videos that I would add background music to and then perform a voice-over of what's being shown.  Then these were used on our website and at trade shows.  So, theoretically, that should have made us some money.  Of course, between the Government backing out on their promises to our customers and the head of sales being an extremely unethical person, not much came out of it.  But that's another story!

All music work that I have done has been as a hobby with no expectation of making any income (except for a song I wrote a LONG time ago that was stolen by some popular Christian artist of all things and turned into a successful tune - HE definitely made some money from it  ).
