Thanks.  I've just been a little busy with work and stuff. 
 
The changing of the guard/avatar isn't as hard as it may sound.  Find an appropriately sized image that you want to use and upload it in the user panel.  I think once you've done that, it might ask if you want to use it on or off line.  I too, am a little out of it today and it's been a while since I've done it so I may not have the exact sequence.  I'll give it a try when I get home.
