I try to keep up with the jones'es, but one can only take so many changes.  I know it's life, but damn, I want to finish that Jam I had started in 1991, because when I still play it; it cooks!.  Lets set up a strategy to keep those old .BUN, .WRK, .MID, etc. files alive, and still let them load into the latest state of the art fly system (Sonar 256 X7.03a).  Can we do it?

I think so.

I still have a shoebox full of floppies with Cakewalk 1.0 projects on them. I'll bet I could still load them into SONAR. Problem is, I no longer have a floppy drive.

I think I still have at least one in my box of old goodies (unless you're looking for an 8" floppy drive, which I no longer have - even though I still have two 8" floppies kept in a folder along with other ancient memories - lol!).

Cakewalk Gold is as far back as I go, but it was included on a CD which came with soundblaster drivers and other programs included with a soundblaster LIVE! soundcard.

So SoundBlasters are the audio card of choice for Professional Studios then?

Well, Bravo!
(See what I did there?)

I used one of those expensive Turtle Beach jobbies with Cakewalk v1.0.

My first one was Cakewalk Apprentice that came on a floppy with a soundcard, it was around the change of 80's/90's (??).
CW Pro Audio (version 6??) was the first serious one. It took me nearly two months to register it via mail :o/
