I'm thinking of selling my copy of elephant and truepianos and was wondering how do I go about it?

I've checked and it seems that transfers are possible.

Where is the best place to sell?

I have a paypal account - is it possible to for the customer to send payment to my account? How?

Any things I should watch out for?

You might try Ebay, You can accept payment via Paypal. Watch out for transfer fees from the software vendor and/or iLok, Ebay commission and the fee to accept Paypal.

Note that eBay has strict policies about selling software, although I'm not sure about the exact details. They allow boxed software and disks, but I believe that don't allow you to to sell files that will sent over the internet or supplied via download.

> Where is the best place to sell?
KVR market place would be directly related to DAW software buy/sell.

Customer can pay to your email that is registered to your PayPal.

- list of vendors allowing license transfer (at KVR), and if there is any fees imposed, and the procedure of transfer.
- spend sometime at the marketplace reading over how to sell / set the price.
- collect payment first, before sending out the license/code. Your customer still can complain to PayPal if something is not right, but it harder for you to get payment if a bad customer did not pay you first. Not that it happens often, just the way the market place normally handle payment (from my previous buying experience at KVR).

Yes, KVR marketplace would be the best bet, I would think.

There's 2 dedicated sections, [topics 4 & 5], listing those who do & don't allow the sale and/or transfer of their products.

I bought Waves Gold on Ebay. After the iLOk and Waves transfer fees along with Ebay and Paypal the guy didn't make much. He didn't do the research prior to selling it and was sorry he bothered.

+1 to KVR market place. There's also a "Feedback Thread" where you can check the seller's/buyer's past sale history with others.
The only thing (which can be a good thing) at KVR is everyone is looking to get a bargain and generally the prices are around 50% of the regular price (not always, but generally). I'm still trying to sell OT's Acoustic as well as my UAD account.

Kvr is easiest. Make sure you know how the transfer of each product works. You're in control. If in doubt, pull out. Make sure the money is your account before transferring. If you're a new member then you may get treated warily but you can always say you're known at Cakewalk or other forums or get someone to say how honest and fantastic you are.

Search the site or google something like 'FS elephant Kvr' and find out the going rate. Kvr is full of vultures like me and they expect it cheap!

I actually bought Elephant from there a few years ago. Unsurprisingly it was the lowest price I'd ever seen.

The big brouhaha in the Pro Tools forum at the present involves some people who bought iLok protected licensed software from people on eBay who, by an oversight of the iLok company, received duplicate licenses.  Now, iLok has discovered their mistake and they are disabling those licenses.  Users that run an update receive an email saying that the license has been revoked and when they log in to the iLok site the authorization is removed rendering the software that they bought useless.

That's something to be aware of when buying iLok protected software from individuals.
