These guys were the support act at the 'Frantic Four' Quo show we recently went to in Wolverhampton.

The brainchild of former superbike champion (and Mr Katie Melua) James Toseland and producer (and co-songwriter) Toby Jepson, their musical style exhibits an affectionate nod to 'classic' hard rock, albeit with a modern, maybe slightly more metal, twist.

I got their debut album Renegade a couple of days ago, and I'm happy to report that it's an excellent first outing. Such was the strength of their performance at The Civic Hall, I immediately recognised most of the songs on the CD that they'd played that night. That's always a good sign I reckon.

 I wonder if that's Miley Cyrus's sledgehammer

Anyway, I think there's a few folk here who might enjoy their stuff, hence this thread, and these vids:

Wow!  What a racket!
Oh, wait...  I guess we're probably not supposed to play all of them at the same time, ya?

Sounded pretty good and polished to me.

Well, this is appearing to be a good use of $7.99 (the Amazon download price for the album).  For the price of a "decent" micro-brew beer plus tip, I've been listening to this all afternoon and I like the positive, energetic songs.  I think this will be one of those albums that sounds better each time I play it.

Thanks for the heads-up Steve!

Cool!

I saw the price of the CD on Amazon.com was ridiculously high, it was a fraction of that over here Craig.

And I've noticed the same thing about it getting better with each listen having played it through half a dozen times now. The songwriting is of a high standard and there are a couple of really outstanding tunes on there.

It's nice to see a new band/project going out on the road to build up a fan-base and getting people buying their albums on the strength of the quality of the performance and the songwriting. It just seems so much more 'righteous' than the "want it now" attitude that sucks people into the X-Factor/Pop Idol approach to getting famous.

Thought I recognized Rebah from DORJE in there. Didn't see Chappers though...or did I?

Used to watch James ride too. Good, he was. But not as good as that Rascal Rossi.
