It's probably the best of the free drum VSTis around.

Still version 3, I was hoping it was going to be version 4. Its still a long way before Sonoma equals the Sampletank 3 release fiasco, but they are working on it. I preordered Drumcore light several months ago, so I can use my old Kitcore kits in a modern 64 bit interface. The have my cash, but no sign of a release date yet.

Hi Glyn
You know I VERY nearly preordered like you but hesitated at the last moment - think I'm happy I did now!!
Such a shame really as in their day Kitcore / Drumcore were really good products. Suppose I shall have to pension these off to the ever growing pile of unusable software products I have purchased over the years.......
If they do follow a Septic Tank schedule, by the time they finally release their update we'll probably be on Addictive Drums 4 and Ezdrummer 5!!!!
Just one thing - as they have your money, have you written to them and asked "Where's my upgrade!" When they were launching this preorder offer, didn't they say something like the product release was scheduled for March???
Cheers
Nigel

Oh and something else I forgot to say - the similarities between IK Multimedia and Sonoma Wireworks - BOTH of these Companies have become VERY focused on iCrap products - seems then they both have similar attitudes to their original non iCrap customers. Septic Tank and Kitcore have been dreadfully neglected by both of them. I suppose this could be that their main income streams now come from iCrap and they genuinely in comparison don't make much from Computer based products anymore. If so, I suppose that could explain why they don't feel the need to get their proverbial fingers out and get the updates released.

No - I must do that. I am not totally empty handed because I got the "free" kit that was part of the upgrade sweetener. I chose the 40's kit and its a useful addition, but not the reason I parted with the cash.

The Luis Conte kits are still my goto for percussion and there are few other unique kits and sone excellent MIDI. Its a shame the MIDI is in a propriatary format untill its dragged into a track.

I checked the Sonoma forums and found a couple of threads. Those waiting for Sampletank 3 will find this familiar, only IK have not taken preorders yet!

While we were careful not to promise a release date, we understand that we set a target date (subject to change) which was not met and we apologize for your having to wait. While we have run into unforeseen obstacles along the way, we are continuing to work hard to finish it as soon as possible.
