I wonder if / how well it will work when miXbus implements midi, vsti, x64?
Did you happen to read anything about this?

No word on midi, vsti, or X64 so far. The rumour mill says that all of that should be coming along soon. From my experiences today it just is a breeze tracking in X3 and exporting the OMFs in to Mixbus. I have always used Sonar from beginning to end on all my projects but hearing the mix and mastering in Mixbus seems to have more of a blended vintage sound that has been lacking in Sonar. I am not sure that I would go to the trouble of using Mixbus on a regular basis but it sure is nice to have the option of using it to knock of some of the digital brittleness I have in tracks that get sent to me. There are a ton of videos out there about Mixbus. Check 'em out.
BTW, I was loading projects in X3e 64 bit and exporting them out as OMFs, opening them, and mixing and mastering in Mixbus 2.5 which is 32 bit. I never had a problem over 4 hours of continuously throwing stuff in to Mixbus.
If this thing goes in to X64 with midi and vstis, I believe it will be a very big contender if they keep the price down. I also should calm the rhetoric. You know how it is when you get a new piece of gear. My hearing may change after a couple of days and the shine has wore off. LOL

I know Sidroe mentioned this;
"Because we want you to be happy with your purchase, you can experiment with
ArdourXchange for up to 30 days, before needing to register it."

WHAT?
 A software company that "guarantees" your satisfaction?
This is madness I say, MADNESS!

I think it worked very well and I love how all the tracks were exactly as they were in Sonar. In the Sonar manual it says that you need to bounce midi tracks to audio. You can just freeze them. I tried it and it worked well. It appears it just gives you the tracks as is with no effects so you would have to mix the drums without effects before you freeze them. Also, I use Amplitube so I'll freeze those as well so I don't have to insert the plug.

I'm glad I asked what this was. It is going to be a huge time saver!

I should say too that it is a pretty fast workflow when you have a track in X3 that just has problems so bad it doesn't sit well in Mixbus. Just go back to X3, pull up the project, work on the single track and export that single track out as an OMF and fly the new version in! Pretty slick!

Are you saying that you can open an OMF while in the session of MB? That is cool!
