Yeah, the export dialog...is what I meant. Thanks.

I am having the same problems now. I did manage to get all the audio though. To get all of it I had to freeze every track and delete all extraneous tracks including the midi. (make sure you save a different version) It worked but now there is a new problem. All the audio is in reverse order. LOL! Is it really worth it now? It worked perfectly until I registered it. Go figure.

Just out of curiosity, Maybe you could try moving the tracks around in Sonar before the export. Is it always opening in Mixbus in the same WRONG tracks? You can see in Mixbus where it moved the tracks to and then go back to Sonar and move those tracks to the position you want them to open in Mixbus . Also, have you tried removing the plugins from the FX bin in Sonar after the bounce. Just some suggestions to troubleshoot. I feel guilty now that your having such a problem and I'm not.

You don't have to feel guilty. I didn't have problems until I registered it.

TBH, it's too much hassle this way than just importing stems.

1. Creating a session in MB is easier because you can create the session in the folder of your choosing rather than starting with an OMF session, saving it and then having to move the folder the location you want.

2. Is it really that much easier? Bouncing stems is just as easy as bouncing audio. Also, just as easy to import them rather than open the OMF and have to move the folder.

3. You can get a general mix going, as you will when you record anyway, and you'll be there when you import the stems. That goes for EQ settings as well. I like MB's EQ but doing a little sculpting in Sonar with the quadcurve is a nice bonus.

4. You have to rename all the tracks since they all import, via OMF, as Audio 1, Audio 2 ETC, You can argue that this is a pain in either method but you don't have to figure them out in MB afterward. I put a number the tracks, preceding it's name, in the order I want them to import. You still have to edit the name in MB but I think it's easier.

I can't think of anything else right now but there are probably more. The thing that turned me off right away is that the stereo tracks were not stereo in MB. Maybe I should have bounced the drum tracks rather than freeze them but that's just extra work. At least it was only $15 and not more.

Sounds like I can save my money. This is a feature that should have been included. OMF is too iffy to charge for a plugin

On this subject - and I haven't tried this yet. But if anyone has please chime in. I was thinking that since both MB and Sonar can export and import Broadcast Wav files; that would work for me. I have used OMF in the past and it worked. But I think I will try Broadcast Wav files to see if that works for what I want, which in a nutshell is to have the track's names intact and more importantly, lined up properly.

I've only had MB a couple of weeks and really like it. So what I was doing was adding empty clips at zero time and then exporting tracks. I just want to get that step out of the process. If this doesn't work, I will probably try the plug.

I, too, have been using broadcast wavs to import in to other DAWs. This plugin seems to be working fine for now. I just don't understand why others are having so much trouble. Of course, with my history the other shoe could hit the floor any time. I am renowned for my bad luck having a delayed fuse. Even if it does import the tracks to different locations I look at it as I have finished my work in Sonar and this phase of mixing and mastering would be different in another program anyway. I apologize to all of you that are having those problems if you went ahead and registered before you could give it a proper testing. For now, I will continue using it and see if I run in to a brickwall eventually.

Since I am joining this party late ......(Happy Birthday Sidroe! Today is my wife's birthday, so I won't be getting Ardour for her LOL      .... anyway), I appreciate reading through all of this (thread), as I've been considering getting Xchange for Mixbus(which I haven't installed yet, too busy out in the yard/garden/flowerbeds).
No one has mentioned the advantage of Xchange going from Mixbus to Sonar, so I assume it doesn't add any. I have never done any OMF stuff. I have always exported my stereo mixes to Sound Forge and now would like to stay ITB, but bought the Mixbus for experimenting. I wish I'd gotten the Gverb and Delay deal. It doesn't seem that important to get the Xchange......maybe someone can take this to a new place, but at the moment, I'm not convinced ...yet.

Just an update.

I exported another OMF. There was a choice between RIFF wav and (I forget the other) just below it. I also checked the box to split stereo tracks to 2 mono. Everything imported In order except for the stereo to mono tracks which were still in order but at the end of the line.

Maybe these options have something to do with our difficulties?

When OMF works it can save a lot of time. It takes me seconds to export an OMF from logic that would have taken a long time to render out track by track. Since OMF accounts for dead space, I'm not importing tracks full of empty space which can be a hassle when using processes that average the complete file.
