It's been a couple years since I've gone Clint; and not since they moved to Fair Park. If I go, it would probably be to scout out a neck pick up for my 335 Dot. I have been wanting to put a Gibson pickup in the neck; I already have one in the bridge. A used 490R would work just fine on my 335.

Ooo...  Thanks for reminding me!  I still have the stock pickups off of my last Gibson (and I actually know where they are - lol).  I'll have to figure out what they are...  One might actually be a 490R...

490R is stock in the neck of a lot of Gibson's; that makes them a little easier to find on the used market than some of the others. The Classic 57 is one of my favorite neck pick ups. I have a 490R that came stock on my LP and it sounds pretty darned good though, for my style of playing. It has a nice throaty sound, but still enough presence/ mids to cut through.
