Come on now...we are patiently waiting for Windows 8 X64 driver for the VS-100. It is my only interface. I can not do anything without it.

Hi,

I hope the drivers will be ready before XMAS - you can put them under my christmas tree!
Please come on!

Does anybody from Roland/Cakewalk have any information at all as to when Windows 8 drivers will be released for the V-STUDIO 100? This is driving me crazy!

Hello,

no, it's still the same. Also in germany I've got the answer, that they we're working hard for the drivers. I think they mean drivers in general, not them alone for the VS-100.
But to be fair, I looked to some other well known companies and they also don't have W8-drivers for their current products. But maybe there W7-drivers work also under Windows 8. So all we can do is to have patience and hope for some drivers before xmas.!

Kind regards,
T. Finkbeiner

P.S.: Maybe someone from Cakewalk could tell us something new!

Hello,

I think it can't last so long anymore, because nearly for every interface from Cakewalk, even the older ones like UA-101, Fa-66, UA-25EX, UA-4FX and so on already have W8-drivers.  It seems only to be the VS-series, which don't have W8-drivers yet.
So I hope the next days they will be released!

just heard drivers will be released in January. About time too! quote:just recieved email from Oliver Davis Senior Producer Roland. Quote 'Ihave just recieved confirmation That Drivers for all current VS range (including VS-20)will be released in January'. At least we now know roughly when they will be available just a pity it's not before the Christmas break.

Is it possible that Roland are not going to support VS in W8 (by support I mean provide drivers) becuase of the new multi-point touch screen ability of X2 in windows 8. Being cynical is it possible that they want us to invest in some new audio interface and use touch screen as the 'control surface'........ just thinking out loud......

Hi,

I don't know if that's the future aim by Roland - I hope not!

But i'm asking myself very often, if a touch screen is really the right solution for pleasant working. Every time I see a tablet (no matter which company), it's full of fingerprints all about the screen - for me it's terrible. What about you?

For example, I'm working every day with CAD (Architect) and for this I can't believe to use someday a tablet for drawing! I love my mouse!
