Yeah they're great through the VRM box. If I use the VRM all night there are times when I forget I'm wearing headphones (until I try to stand up

You could say that about any less than perfect monitoring environment. Very few people have the perfect room, so nearly everyone is "making concessions and tweaks" to compensate. It's no different with these cans.

I'm only watering them down a little bit because I have read time and time again on the internet how great they are for mixing. They're not.
