ARPOLOGY is Sample Logic’s most groundbreaking achievement to date; the world’s first virtual instrument dedicated entirely to arpeggiated/sequenced instruments. ARPOLOGY go’s far beyond, breaking the box of the “everyday” arpeggiator. It employs an entirely new approach to step sequencing. The core of ARPOLOGY has been designed around Sample Logic’s newest invention, the powerful Step Animator™ – a step-sequencer and arpeggiator fused into a single engine for animating complex melodic and rhythmic patterns on a per step basis, eliminating the limitations of traditional sequencing.

ARPOLOGY is powered by Kontakt player and includes over 550 instruments and multis spanning all musical genres. It also comes preloaded with over 150 unique and inspiring Step Animator preset patterns that will dramatically change the sound of any loaded instrument and in real-time. As if that wasn’t enough, ARPOLOGY is the first Sample Logic product to come bundled with a fully integrated touch surface controller preset built in TouchOSC for tablets, achieving user control that Kontakt alone cannot. With this custom designed control surface interface, the power of ARPOLOGY is transformed into a hands-on, touchable, and creative experience ideal for both live performance and sequencing in a DAW. ARPOLOGY changes the way music is made!

That's quite the price for Arpology.........as far as "melodic & rythmic patterns" go, I've been very happy with Catanya2's pattern arpeggiator and for about $62.

I'm sure there's a lot more features in this Arp product though.

Yes, quite a high price for this.
I'm not interested but if  I were I'd wait until there's a Musician's Friend stupid or similar highly discounted  deal.

musicians friend no longer sells SampleLogic products - that was part of the problem with MF Fanfare serial debacle.

SampleLogic has great products of high quality standard BUT their prices are just so extremely high for what ya get.

$399 (on sale for pre order of $299) for a Kontakt sample based ARP library?

for $400 I could get a lot of VST plugins that do a lot of this functionality and with anything not just Kontakt samples.

I listented to the samples and watched the videos.  it's interesting what this can do, but again I think the price point is just way way to high.

I have great respect for Sample Logic - generally quality stuff. Cinematic Guitars is a favorite here.

But $400 - or even $300 - for a collection of sampled arps? Really? Makes you wonder what alternate dimension their market researchers hail from.

But what do I know...maybe there really are that many spoiled rich-kid wannabe EDM producers in the world with more money than brains. Kids who think Band in a Box requires way too much creative effort.

"Countdown to a new era". Not sure I want to live in that era.

If this appeals to you but seems a little overpriced, just wait a few weeks for the iOS/Android version. $1.99.

Its not on my shopping list, for sure, and not just because of the price. But if I read it correctly the arps are not sampled, rather its a collection of instruments that are controlled from a scripted sequencer in Kontakt. There are cheap and cheerful Hollowsun and Hideaway Studios products that utilize the Kontakt arp / sequencer features and several guitar libraries use the features for strumming patterns.

To me, the most impressive implementation I have seen so far are the phrase generators in Kirk Hunters TVAC4 updates for his string libraries which enable the construction of realistic swells and phrases that would be very hard to create in a DAW.

I can see how having real time control over the arp parameters and the ability to store that control as automation could be very appealing to those making certain styles of music. However there seem to be a awful lot of VSTi synths with that type of control that sell for a fraction of the price.
