A change is as good as a holiday, right? Seriously though I got sick of reaching for things at the bottom of the screen and having my taskbar appear when I didn't want it to. So I put it at the top. This is going to take a long time to get used to. It's what I imagine wearing those glasses which make everything upside down is like. 

Why not try the side?  I've had mine on the side for years.  Screens are wider than they are tall so I want as much of the vertical space that I can get!

I tried the left side first, but found that the icons I usually have on the left side of the screen made it look messy under the transparency. I then tried it on the right but didn't like the fact that my mouse pointer could miss and end up on the 2nd monitor. Too much accuracy required. With it at the top, I can just slam the mouse up there. 

Well, oh, fine.  You have a second monitor.  Well, excuuuuuuuuuse me!
(It works great on the right side if you "only" have one monitor anyway.)

HERETIC !!! Moving a taskbar is one thing. Messing with the pancakes is a whole 'nuther thing.

Yolk side down or up? 
 

I always had my taskbar onto on the PC - seems much more ergonomic to me. That and all my desktop icons neatly tucked into a drop down menu.
