I'd like to watch it. How do I do that?

Here's a snippet of a review.

That's a Gibson Barney Kessel guitar BTW.
Had one for awhile. Looks just like mine actually.

rimshot, sounds like we were doing LA around the same time frame. I think I left around 83.
Ever hear of Salty Dog or Salty Puppy or Platinum Recording studios? I worked there.
Actually, I don't recall 'Sound City' except after the fact since it's famous..

Hey Tim,

Sorry, I just saw your post.  I worked at The Record Plant, Capital Records Studios, Sound City, A&M, CBS, and a bunch of good smaller studios mostly as a studio drummer.
I played with Sue Saad at Madam Wong's with Danny Elfman from Oingo Bongo, The Londoner (that's where we played before signing with Planet Records), The Whiskey, The Troubador, and then we opened for UFO at the Long Beach Sports Arena.  My studio was on Glendale Blvd. at Highway 5 near Los Feliz in the little town of Atwater.  The Beastie Boys took it over.  Sue Saad also opened for Tom Petty, The Baby's, and Boomtown Rats up in the Northwest.  I'll stop there.

I just watched most of this documentary this morning on Amazon (prime). I thought it was really good and want to watch it again with my wife. I think she could appreciate it.

I watched it up to the point, and a little beyond, where Dave Grohl moved the console to his own studio. I think the documentary would have been a bit better if it had stopped it there. I will go back and finish the rest, but as far as telling a story, it should have stopped there, IMHO.

I did not follow a music career so I did not appreciate any of what was talked about in the movie at the time those albums came out. Watching it now sure gives me a different perspective.

Rimshot, thanks for sharing some of your experiences. Very interesting.

None the less... If Paul wanted me to record a bad song with him...I'd be honored.

I would tell him, thanks, but no thanks! I would rather record with his brother, since he has some humor, though I doubt that anyone here in the Coffee House has ever heard of him!

No, none of us has ever heard of 'Mike McGear', lead singer with 'The Scaffold', painful 'comedy' group from the early '70's.

Best forgotten, IMO.

Hi,

Hehehehe!

Scaffold, Grimms, and Mike McGear's solo album ... I have them all, and they are much more enjoyable than so much of the crap that Paul has put together over the years. You could take 5 of Paul's albums and make a decent one out of it, and I still would not buy it. In fact, not bothered since "Band on the Run".

The last McCartney album I really liked and still love listening to it is .... RAM! But that's an album that no one seems to like! Long cuts, too!

Honestly, Paul is becoming like the Rolling Stones ... that the media thinks anything they do is fine and whatever, and they are not! If it were Johnny Shchmoe's Coffe House Band, no one would give a crap and listen to that pile of junk, but because it is the "gods", they can **** on us, and we're supposed to be in awe!

Get over it! Paul's time is dead and gone! Loved his work earlier, but he's not been relevant for 30 years!

Agree 100% Ram is the only McCartney album I like too.

Disagree 100%. I haven't liked everything he has done, but I do like most of it.
