We've got several of them in the neighborhood and they love our metal chimney. Freaks the dog out too. They ignore me when I wave my arms and yell at them, so I use a slingshot and nonlethal plastic golf balls to discourage them. I'm reconsidering the nonlethal part. . . .

Yes, and for once, I completely agree with me.

There's an obvious reference to the thread title, a kitten, a bird, and the crowning glory - the Family Guy clip even includes the word "snarky".

This could well be the most perfect CH post...................ever!!

At least worthy of 'Best Answer' I would think.

At least you don't have a raven's nest right above your bedroom window. I had one 2 years ago. Started in February and went till the middle of Summer. They squawk and holler as loud and obnoxiously as they can from wee morn till midnight, especially at feeding time. Tho it was fun to see the young birds grow up and learn to fly, I got absolutely no sleep that spring.

Brian is not a pooch.  don't insult us like that.

There was this mocking bird outside my 2nd floor apartment in L.A. and after long night recording sessions I would come home and hear this guy yaking away at 3 A.M.
I thought about trying to shoot it with my BB gun but he was perched across the street on the roof and knowing my luck, someone would see me with a rifle pointing it to the building and I would get arrested and so on.
So I moved.

I lived in an apartment down in Irvine (Orange County area) that overlooked one of the pool areas.  One night when it was warm, there was a night lark gleefully singing away and trying to copy one of those annoying car alarms - the one's that have several different sounds.  He pretty much nailed most of them before horribly failing on the final sound.  Then all you could hear were people laughing from all the surrounding apartments and it became very apparent how many of us had our windows open while being awake at 3am due to that stupid bird.  You could hear comments from around the courtyard like "Anyone got a gun?" to "Will whoever has the alarm remote please use it on that damn bird???"
