I double checked, while Ad 2 has a "MY BEATS" Tab, the manual states that it's for midi created within AD. Surely there has to be a way to add other midi content.

Funk is a very broad term.  The Funk Masters is very old school funk and I don't know how well it would translate over the broad range of Funk styles.

Clint, Sorry to hijack your thread but I think I found something. C-> User->Joey bag of donuts->my documents->Addictive Drums-> User Midi files. In AD2 the folder is named external midi files. There's a note in the folder named " place midi files here.txt". The note states: Place external MIDI files in this folder and then choose “Refresh MIDI Library” in the Help Button [?] menu. Contact support if you need any further assistance.
I hope this helps.

When it comes to midi packs don't forget Platinum Samples.  There is some very good midi there.  I'm not crazy about the Metal genre but there are others that I think are quite good (not that the Metal packs aren't good.)

I was able to add some Odd Grooves files to my AD 2 library no problem.

No problem. I don't have AD2, but I have two groove monkee (Rock/blues and World beats) and one platinum samples midi pack (Steve Ferrone) in AD1. Funk (like Rock&Roll) is a pretty generic term these days I guess. A funkier midi pack is what I was looking for, but I'll just make my own.

I thought you mentioned having an issue getting your midi libraries to show up in AD in another thread.

I did. That was in the AD2 demo. Long story...the short version is. It was my fault. I thought at the time that the AD2 demo version was actually a full featured program with the only limitation being a crippled Fairfax.

+1 on loading midi in Jamstix to produce a style.

I have so many midi grooves collected over the years that by using them as a basis for jamstix to produce a style is really unlimited.

I have loads of Groove Monkey clips. I agree they're not that good "as is," however as a foundation to customize to your own needs, they're great.

But my absolute favorite use for them is as groove templates in Jamstix. Just load them as a style in a Jamstix part and you'll hear some of the best funk drumming in a VST.

I have never used jamstix...I'll have to check them out. Thanks.
