I haven't installed X3 yet, because my hardware needs upgrading.  However, I have been reading comment about R-MIX and V-Vocal.  If you use them, install X3 on the same DAW as X2 or you'll lose them.  They're not included with X3.  I'm sure others will provide more detail on this.

I thought Beagles were already loyal--especially if you have becan.

cakewalk lost my LOYALTY when they became part of Tascam!
I thought everyone who knows me already knew that!

you pushed the button, Jan!  you just HAD to push that button!!!

Sorry, Beagle.  I probably knew it, but I forgot.  I wasn't thinking about loyalty to Cake.  I was thinking about your canine brethren.  Can we unpush that button?

I"m not mad at you Jan!  the part directed at you was tongue in cheeck.  the part about Tascam , however...

I figured as much, but I didn't want to take a chance of assuming it an being wrong.

I think as long as you have the X2 install files you can do a custom instalation and just select these two??

The integration of Melodyne is almost worth it on it's own. Very slick compared to the clunky way it worked before. You could also sell your new melodyne licence to someone else who doesn't have it to recoup some of the $$. All versions of melodyne are the same download/software from celemony, it's the licence number you have that determines which version you see on screen.

So, does this mean it's possible to install some of the plugins exclusively to X2 into X3?  For example Session Drummer 3?
This is something I've always wondered, but never asked....

It's a roland product - not suprising really all things considered. It will still work if you already have it, it just isn't included, as is the case with V-vocal. VV integrates into X3 the same as melodyne so is also slicker and still worth having on board as it does do some things that melodyne can't.

Integration with Gobbler (online backup)

Gobbler is great and has saved my sanity on more than one occasion. I just don't see the point of it being "integrated" in Sonar (at all). For it to work, you have to install Gobbler, a separate app. And once you've done that, you don't need the Sonar integration - everything is doable in the Gobbler app. In fact you need to open the Gobbler app for the juiciest functionality (accessing past versions of projects). You don't have to turn Gobbler "on" in Sonar for your projects to sync. So in all honesty I just removed the Gobbler module from the tool bar.

Yes, yes, yes - Your existing Melodyne editor will work, Pablo is suggesting selling the Elements version that you will get bundled with X3
