Only here in the CH could the awe and majesty of the cosmos be so succinctly distilled into its essence.

A seemingly random reference made in a single post can have huge implications in the course of the history of thread.

I tried to watch it... nice pictures but I cannot comment per the TOS. So, carry on. I'm tolerant.

Strange that we still live in fear of the E word.

Especially if you have one for over four hours!
(Wait, what were YOU talking about?)

I once joked about that TV ad with my doctor. He said "it's not funny" and proceeded to explain what they do to you when you walk into the ER with a 4+ hour boner. I'll not describe it, because once you've heard it you can never un-hear it, much as I wish I could. Let's just say I've not joked about it since.

Like I told my wife after seeing that same ad:  "I'm not getting medical attention....I'm getting an agent..."

It's sad that some could have the condition and it would never be noticed.

I've heard only good about Cosmos, so it does bother me a bit I'm not planning to have any pay-channels in the future.

I watched episode three last night and realized there was something quite disconcerting about the show.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's up there with the very best of science programming that I've ever seen - I'm totally engaged.  But there are commercial breaks.  This show is *so* PBS-like that it only takes a minute or two to get into a no-commercials state of mind.  Every time there's a scene that fades to black, I don't even think of reaching for the remote control to turn off the sound of the commercial!

Cosmos....?  Pfttt, I prefer something real... like the Walking Dead. Now there's a show you can sink your teeth into.
