Rain
Today, we went to see an exposition called Machines In Motion, dedicated to Da Vinci's machines.

How much this man accomplished, the phenomenal quantity of absolutely brilliant inventions he came up with in his 67 years on this earth is simply breathtaking - and that's just one fragment of the many, many things he accomplished in his life.

I'm still somewhat in a shock, processing what I've seen. Makes one realize how insignificant we can be... Maybe if he had had access to Facebook and Twitter, he wouldn't have had as much time to spend just being the genius he was.

I'll probably never use the word "genius" to refer to anyone else again...

Da Vinci was always one of my favorite inventors.......Tesla was also incredible. Some people seem to be able to know certain things that given their backgrounds and surroundings it is knowledge they had no access to yet they knew..... Da Vinci more so than Tesla since tesla had some engineering training , but like so many geniuses, his teachers told him his ideas were silly, he went out on his own and proved them all wrong.

Lots of talk about the so called "star children" who like Da Vinci know a lot but no one really knows how they can know it.Some of the attempted explanations are bizarre.

I'd love to see that exhibit Rain.  Da Vinci was truly a genius.

But, but, Prince is a genius. Everybody knows that. Karl Rove has been called a genius. And of course, Apple stores are populated almost entirely by geniuses.

Sadly, history doesn't remember Da Vinci's cousin, Lenny "Duh" Vinci. Dwelling within the shadow of his famous cousin, Lenny attempted to create his own inventions. Unfortunately, the world was not receptive to his Self Catapult device. Frustrated by his failures, he finally attempted to rip off his cousin and build his own flying machine. Sadly, he used granite for the wings. His final statement was, "AAAGGHHHH!"
