I Am appalled that I did not watch the video because I had a lame excuse at the time. Now that you mention it, I remember the episode in question. I would accept that Sheldon is at the very least a virtual guitarist in the same sense that everyone who plays Rock Band is a guitarist. On another note, if you scramble the letters in Robert Fripp's name, it doesn't spell "Sheldon" but it does prevent your email from reaching Mr. Fripp. In addition, what you do with your kittens is your business. FWIW, there's no need to upload a video. While the original Star Trek theme did not feature a theremin, I think we can all agree that it is good that Sheldon did not cover this classic song with an accordion. I Am appalled that you started a fred that required multiple explanations, a heartfelt and somewhat discomforting ode to Robert Fripp, and yet still has not accounted for the fact that I received a link in my inbox this morning for Rebecca Black's Friday song. Appalled, I say!

(I would reply to the person who sent me the link, but I'm not supposed to email Robert Fripp anymore.)

Lizard?

I think that's King Crimson's third album.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere! So, Sheldon was the bass player, right?

no, he's the guitarist.

That's not Robert Fripp.

I guess I'll just have to wait till Pedro gets here to explain all this.

Hi,
Robert Fripp didn't have anything to do with TBBT, Sheldon or Rock Band.  As we can see in this video, there is no Robert Fripp nor would he even stoop to the level of absurdity that is Rock Band because he was a true artist who cannot possibly even think in the realm of possibilities of something that is so far beneath his character without poetry readings in the summer with raindrops falling on kittens with milky white paws and glowing red eyes which can pierce into your soul.  should you ever come across such a kitten you should immediately relieve your bowels and find the nearest synthesizer because they can't be found for the price and quality they used to be made in.

Holy Suzie Chapstick.

I just saw the upside down pentagram in the middle and guessed the whole thing was a cryptic reference to either some sort of demonic worship that sacrifices lizards or possibly a tie in with Freemasonry and the Knights Templar.

Also, when he played the Theramin, he referenced that he had to have one ever since he heard it first played on Star Trek, however, I submit to you that the opening theme for the original series of Star Trek is NOT a Theramin, but it is a female vocal.

appalled indeed.

Just to get completely nerdified about it, in some episodes it was an electric violin. I believe the soprano vocal was dropped after Season Two.

Actually, it was the same in all 3 seasons but in the first season the soprano voice, the organ and the flute were all mixed evenly. The 2nd season the mix was changed to make the soprano more prominent and in the 3rd season it was remixed to make the organ more prominent. No theremins were harmed in the making if the theme however.
