3.0 is probably right around the corner then.

Heck, at that price I'd buy another one ....

That is a STEAL!!!

I am just getting ready to update to 2.5 today. Makes me wonder why they would just release a 2.5 if 3.0 was around the corner unless 2.5 is just a testing bed for the improved VST handling process.

That's a good point Tuck..(point and tuck - )

I'm hoping that Mixbus 3.0 get's the Ardour 64 bit and MIDI handling...
that's a major step forward for the program if it does...

Mesh
Even at this "no-brainer" pricing deal, would you guys spend the time to learn it and use it instead of using Sonar? Or is it just another way to feed a GAS addiction?

I see what you did there...

Yeah, 64 bit and midi handling would be a very positive step for Mixbus.

I had a lengthy discussion regarding this Mesh.  Needless to say...I probably sold
a ZILLION of these for Harrison and made a lot of converts.  Mind you, it's still
32 bit and no MIDI support.

There is a "sound" that this DAW produces that is the closest to High End "analogue" I've heard.
It just SOUNDS NICE AND PLEASANT.  The way something mixed on a High End Console
does.  Don't know how they do it...but they do it...

Can you replace Sonar with it?  NO (not yet anyways)  Does it have a USE?  YES!
It is a great place to do "the final mix or Master".

IMO...it's worth the $219 price just for the "sound".  AT $19...it's a STEAL.

Download it, import a raw track.  Listen to the Track "Outside" of Mixbus...
Then "Inside" Mixbus.  The rest is up to you...

Rain
First piece of (music related) software I buy in almost a year.

Even in I'm 99.99% sure I won't use it because I usually push the concept of ITB to its ultimate limits and stick to my DAW and its plug-ins.

For that 0.01% of chances that I might simply want to mess with it, and considering that I'd been wanting to check it out again for the last couple of days, $20 was just too much of a deal to pass.

Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to, dixit the Ferengi Rule of Acquisition # 3. :P

Thanks for posting it, Stephen. :)

I still want a DAW that sounds a cool as Mixbus, is as flexible as Sonar, has the timeline features from DP, audio editing from Sound Forge and Wavelab, and expression maps from Cuebendo... but it does not exist.

So I use different tools for different tasks.

I really like Mixbus, but I don't use it as much as I used to because the x86 vs x64 thing has become more of a hassle than I care to deal with. Maybe I'm just lazy???
