So has anyone here ever gone to the Sync Summit? I'm thinking about going to the one in Hollywood in June. Only thing really holding me back is I'm going to LA the following week, so 2 trips back to back in 2 weeks might be a bit much for me to handle haha, but I figured maybe if someone has a good story or two to tell me about networking and learning at this event, maybe it would help talk me into it...

Sorry, but I'm out of sync...

I'm so tempted to mark that as the answer and just move on... :-)

lol.

It looks interesting, but for whom?  $400 - $600 to interact with Thomas Dolby and others.  I assume this is like Linked In for music professionals, but what types of professionals?  It doesn't look like it's aimed at the average music creator, but more for promoters, producers and large company sound types (like those for film).

Is that close?

(Notice how I didn't mention that it would take someone else paying ME more than $600 to want to go to Los Angeles?  Hehe...)

Well as someone who has done some music for libraries, gotten my music used in commercials, games, and scored films... I feel like I could only learn more and maybe meet some good people. PLUS if I register by April 2nd its $400, which really isn't bad. Of course the downside of any of these kinds of things is... You're just one of a ton of composers all there to do the same thing... So it's hard to say if it's REALLY worth it... I'm leaning towards going as of now, just figured it would be cool to see if anyone has any first hand experience of attending past Sync Summits.
