I know I posted a Whole Foods receipt warning a while ago which turned out to be confusion on my part, but tonight when we were leaving the checkout in Whole Foods at Union Square, the girlfriend looked at the receipt and said "what the hell is this?" There it was: "Pink pumpkin, $8.99." I didn't buy no freaking pumpkin!

We went to customer services to complain and the guy said "oh yeah the computer system's been doing that a lot, it just adds random items..."

WTF!

Check your receipts!

This is why I only shop at Partial Foods.

Thanks.  I don't get over there that often--it's not too far, but it's out of the way.  I'll keep an eye out next time I go.  

We buy at Whole Numbers. So our bill never looks right to me.

Interesting - we shop there every week. I'll definitely check them out. 

I may use this thread as a reference someday. As in, "Honest honey, I didn't buy any of that junk food on the receipt there - the store made a mistake!".

That's gonna quickly backfire when she demands you go back to the store to complain, insists on coming with you and they roll out the camera footage of you piling all of those scones, donuts, potato chips and puddings into your basket.

I posted what happened to me on their Facebook page. It'll be interesting to see what their response is. I recently complained that they were out of my favorite beets and they responded pretty quickly.
