I found the standalone AD2 in C:\program files\xlnaudio\addictive drums 2

The installer didn't create a Stand Alone Icon.

Just an FYI

Cool, Thanks.

Here's a video of that Fairfax kit they posted on FB this am.

I take it Fairfax Studios is located in the old Sound City Building?
And have some of the old Sound City Equipment?

I know David Grohl has the Neve Console that made Sound City famous.

I just noticed that in this view...

You can play the samples by hitting the drums.

Click on the bass drum and it plays the sample
Click on the HiHat and it plays the sample
Click on just above the Bass and it plays the Snare Sample
Click on the Crash and it plays the Sample

Not a noteworthy feature...but nice nonetheless...

I am running win 8.1, I did get an AD2 Standalone icon but it was not pinned to start. I had to click the down arrow to get to Apps then I Right clicked, checked pin to Start. You can also pin to the taskbar. Most of my recent installs have done that. Perhaps that is a change in win 8.1

I'm running 8.1 Pro also...I just found the executable and pinned to the start menu.
I rarely use the down arrow menu...so didn't even think of looking there.
I found the manual in C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2/App/ADBV0002/Manuals.
You can get it from the help menu but I wanted the actual PDF File.

AD can be mapped to GM. Go to the Beats page and there is a dropdown to select the midi map you want to use. I use GM all the time since I've been writing in it since forever.

I am looking forward to this. The extra slots will be most useful.

I do the same thing in the map window. It has the same exact dropdown menu. Different strokes...

Thanks for checking. Am I off base thinking that it's unfortunate I can't mix the ride or cymbals as their own levels in AD instead of always working them through the overheads? It's easy in Session Drummer and in other drums I use. I like Addictive Drums a lot, but have been wrestling with that.

Lawa, I got deeper into this.  The "L" in the upper left hand corner of the Kit Slot
allows you to pick anything and put it in Flex1, 2, etc....so you CAN do it!!!

Larry - that's terrific! Thanks for checking. That alone will be a big help.

Are there any limitations in this AD2 demo? It seems that the program itself is free and the only limitation is in the Fairfax demo. I don't have any adpaks of yet, so can someone confirm this for me? If the AD2 program itself is basically free...how do I refresh the midi library? I've done everything I can think of. (yes I've read the manual) It would be nice if you could pay $79 for AD2 and get the original 3 kits, but it looks like they are now the Rock, Prog and Pop adpaks.

All the Kits will be updated to AD2 format from what I understand.  The ones you own now will be updated
upon upgrading to AD2.  Right now, the only kit you can use with the Demo is the Fairfax pieces that came
with it.
