They both use Toontrack Solo for standalone play. It is a separate download and install. The zip should be located in the EZD and SD2 download areas. You only need to install one copy it works with both products.

This link has the most info I've seen so far.

Some nice pics of the mixer and effects. Looks like quicker load times and the ability to mix and match kit pieces.

And that info IMHO lets me know IM IN when it gets here. The ability to swap kit pieces ala SD2, the "power hand" option and drum hit controller sounds good enough...but when you toss in 5 completely new kits and extra snares and kicks all recorded by Chuck Ainly...yowsa!!

Looks promising. I'll still wait for a sale as I don't need it but I like the improvements.

I'm still out.  $49 upgrade and I'll buy...

Song designer is ALA EZKeys, which I like.  With EZ, Eco, BFD2, BFD 3, Session Drummer, SD, and SS EX...and all the kits I have...I'm pretty well set.

Swapping Kit pieces...no big deal (for me) and not worth $99 dollars.
And when you can buy SD right now for $99 and have all this (just about) and more...
AND the upgrade path to SD3...It's not a good deal, unless you ONLY own EZD 1.

While the song designer is a good idea, not a prerequisite...

Oh yes..and if you buy SD at AD you get a $20 gift card too...
Making the effective price $79.99, cheaper then EZ2...
and it gives you EZPlayer Pro...

I have SD2 already. I like it very much. But for "every day use" I prefer EZD...and Dos Equis.

Stay thirsty my friend:-)

I've been looking into and watching youtube videos of Superior for a few days trying to decide if I should get it or upgrade to EZ2. I'm still not sure to be honest. I'm going to have to wait until everything is known about EZ2 to decide. I don't feel like I've been missing much as it is.

What I love is that big SEARCH button at the top of the GUI.  Behind the scenes I've been advocating a way to search for midi patterns via some form of query and as reported in the SOS article, EZD2 has that.  It's cool to be able to tap in a kick beat that matches or compliments my bass pattern and then have a list of midi grooves in my EZD midi libraries that have a kick that matches or are close to a match.  It goes a bit further than that but I can't go into features that aren't public knowledge yet.
