Yeah, even Razed in Black only has some Goth rock songs.  I'm listening to one right now that sounds closer to the Pet Shop Boys - lol.  Oh well, it's not bad at all - just not what I think of as Goth rock at all!

I think Animals was one of the first CD's I bought - I initially had the cassette tape version and it actually faded out in the middle of Pigs (Three Different Ones) at the end of side one and faded back in on side two!

RainLikewise, I'm glad I've waited to buy the Zeppelin catalogue again too, in view of the recently announced new releases - might as well get the most recent version (as long as it sounds as good as the previous remasters).

Unfortunately in many cases for many bands "most recent version" = "most compressed".

I'm hoping that this won't be the case. Jimmy Page always seemed to be very protective of his band's legacy, so I think there's hope. But yeah, in many cases, it's tragic - Deep Purple comes to mind.

My recollection was that the (heretofore most recent?) Mothership collection was considerably louder than previous versions...

Quite possible - I haven't listened to that one. If so, indeed, it doesn't look good.

I guess I'll try to find the box set versions again.
